What truly motivates people – An argument for social media use within schools.

This YouTube Video, was introduced by Dr Jason Watson from QUT. The purpose of this video is to gain an insight into human behaviour. ‘What truly motivates people?” Why does this ‘human characteristic make-up’ necessitate the use of ‘Social Computing’ in the new ‘Enterprise 2.0’ organisation.

In summary: three factors lead to better performance and personal satisfaction.

1. Autonomy: 2. Mastery: 3.Purpose

A fundamental way of facilitating these factors in an Enterprise 2.0 world is through the use of Social Computing / Collaboration Tools. The ways that autonomy, mastery and purpose, can be facilitated in your organisation via social computing can be achieved many ways.
